ISN'T IT IRONIC?

Iron balusters on a stair constantly pose a quandary. Specifically as it pertains to code issues. I long for the good old days when they could be spaced however one deemed appropriate from a design stand point. We have been known to put in dummies to get past a pesky inspector, then knock the middle bit out after the certificate of occupancy has been issued. Shhh....don't tell anyone! It becomes, however, a challenge to come up with a design that is both beautiful and legal. If you have solutions, I'd love to hear about it!

  1. So many amazing railings. I'm all for the switcheroo, whatever it takes to bring form over function...
