While in San Francisco last week, the Zorn exhibit was on
at the Legion of Honor. Although Zorn is a household word in Sweden, he is not
as well known here but he should be as his work, in my humble opinion, is
extraordinary and rivals that of Sargent. He was, in fact, one of the most
important portraitists of the Gilded Age. The exhibition is the first major
retrospective of his work in the United States in nearly a century, and it was
such an immense pleasure to be able to see it in person! I'm inspired...
