Texture, texture, texture!
Nothing brings warmth to a monochromatic interior like the rugged patina of vintage woods. Reclaimed timbers, doors and planks in an otherwise neutral interior add such personality and dimension, infusing the space with elegant rusticity. Even given the rough hewn nature of the materials, they altogether in the end are very calming and ultimately luxurious-poetic and poignant!

Hi Beth, just found your blog through facebook and love it.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are marvellous and so is the composition of worn wooden items and modern interiors. It really adds a lot of personality and even softness to the sometimes edged modern forms.
Greetings from Munich,
Petra

ReplyDeleteGreat photos ... but what I really like are all the vintage, rustic stuff in the photos! Nothing practical here. Just warm, lived with and welcoming. Thanks. Bob
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's just that....warm, lived in and wonderful. How nice to not have to be pratical all the time, love the layers of life!
