SILENTLY SHUTTERED

There is just something about a shuttered window or door that is so romantic to me! I fell in love with the whole concept years ago (and I mean years) in Greece, and the practical applications are so wonderful I'm amazed it does not get implemented more often. Talk about a black out shade! No light, no noise, no cold, no heat - why don't we do this more often? This summer, while in St. Barts - we weathered the wrath of Earl. Completely shut in behind the three inch think storm shutters - black as night and quieting the deafening wind, I felt safe and secure through the storm. So nighty night - sleep tight.

Animal hides are amazing, versatile, exciting and glamorous but additionally act as a neutral in an interior. Classic and timeless, they add sophistication to any room when utilized properly, preferably as accents. They make a dramatic statement particularly when used in clean, uncluttered spaces. Texturally stunning, hides patina over time only becoming more tactile with wear and tear.

So whether it be the real deal or a fabulous faux fabric (which really is the better choice)….go a little wild!!

SEEING RED

It's amazing what a little red can do for a room. What a warm, rich, saturated color! It's a fabulous color anytime, but particularly during a frigid winter's day. Red wine, red roses, red lipstick, red velvet....there is nothing else like it to add some comfort to one's life. Always sumptuous in any application, a little goes a long way!
